Getting Started

Thank you for installing Privacy Screen — Automatic Blur & Screen Shield.

1. Pin the extension

Click the puzzle-piece icon at the top-right of Chrome, then click the pin icon next to Privacy Screen — Automatic Blur & Screen Shield.

The extension icon will remain visible in the Chrome toolbar for quick access.

2. Choose how protection activates

Open the extension and select an option from the Activation dropdown.

  • Protect after page inactivity
  • Protect when the pointer leaves the page
  • Use Premium browser or computer-idle protection
  • Select Disabled to turn protection off completely

3. Choose a protection style

Select Blur, White Screen, or Black Screen.

Premium users can also customize blur strength, screen color, messages, images, logos, schedules, website-specific rules, privacy zones, and persistent element masks.

4. Open advanced settings

Click Advanced settings in the extension popup to open the side panel.

The side panel contains profiles, schedules, per-site settings, mask management, privacy zones, Premium licensing, and import/export tools.

5. Test Privacy Screen

Open the purpose-built test page to safely try automatic protection, right-click element masks, privacy zones, dynamic content, forms, tables, iframes, and other extension features.

All names, account numbers, balances, and other information on the test page are fictitious.

Important: After installing or updating the extension, refresh any webpages that were already open so Chrome can load the latest protection code.
